Now… everyone knows we here at The Cypress Group are BIG fans of getting out there and mixing with your “people” (meaning, the people who are best positioned to move your brand or business forward. We are, after all, a business development firm!). Some things we go to for engaging with our partners, expanding a brand or supporting a good cause).
Then again, there are some things we go to because they look just plain fun!”
We’ll have to let you know which one of those boxes this event goes into!

Without being too vague as to the “why”, look where we are going to be tomorrow!
Standing with one foot in the interior design/shelter industry (as it’s not all we do here at The Cypress Group! it’s just that, well, businesses who make our lives lovely need marketing strategy and development too. Right?), it’s going to be quite an interesting event to see what is new and evolving. Worry not….we’ll fill you in on the details later.

Recently, we had the pleasure of joining the people at Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams Home as they launched their new line at a luncheon for interior design professionals in Orange County. So, in the interest of honesty, YES it was lovely furniture and YES it was great to see some familiar faces (like SCAD’s Stacy Aldrich and her dapper husband Adam, who may or may not be related our own Joseph Aldrich)… but really… it was all about Mitchell Gold. ALL.

I mean really… how often do you get to meet someone who’s business and career you have been a fan of forever? It really can make one giddy (just ask store manager Paige Collins – who we here at The Cypress Group adore!).

Its that time of the year again!
As the seasons change, please be sure to save the date for this year’s “Fall into Stonemill” open house at the Stonemill Design Center in Costa Mesa. As with last years event, this evening will offer interaction with the showrooms at the center, as well as serve as a scholarship benefit.
We look forward to seeing you!

The New York Metro chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers started Fall off on the right foot with a great turnout for their “Go Pro: NYC“ event targeting the design industry’s emerging professionals. Kicking off with “PROject” , attendees were treated to a sustainability presentation and tour of the New York Times building with Guy Geier, a managing partner with FXFowle Architects - who worked at creating what is known as the greenest skyscraper in the United States.
Following the lecture and a tour, attendees were treated to a cocktail reception in the shadow of another iconic piece ofarchitecture: The Empire State Building. Turns out, that was just the warm-up for Saturday!

Looking for something to do this Thursday evening (that’s September 22nd to all you date-minded people!).
How about checking out one of Orange County’s up and coming design talents as she throws a runway show highlighting a new season/line of her well known textiles? Sarah Strader is her name (by way of full disclosure, she was also one of the talents involved in The Stonemill Design Center’s “Lido Goes Pop” project this last spring! AND.. one of the event’s sponsors is the centers own Estate of Design)
So, you know where we’ll be! See you there (oh.. don’t forget the rsvp!)

Part of what doing business in today’s market entails is getting ‘people in front of your stuff’ in one way, shape or form. (sometimes referred to as Marketing) It makes sense. Right? The challange in doing this has become cutting through the noise and making your product seem – just a tad – more fun/fascinating/relevant/fabulous than the other 693, 000 things people see every day.
Which, is what our friends at Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams did with this little ditty that came across our desk recently. To be sure, the flip side of this invite had some grand reasons why one would want to swing by, but disclosure of said teaser would cut close to free consulting. Rest assured, however, it will be a grand event!
Lunch anyone?

While we are at our core a marketing and business development consulting company, The Cypress Group is commited to local outreach and giving back to organizations that improve the lives of people around us. (Witness our “Do Good” programs and projects). Which is why we were so thrilled to see this event from our friends at The Irvine Chamber of Commerce about including philanthropy into your business.
To which there is only one response: “See you there!”

What with Summer getting set to wind down (”Back to School” anyone?), it seems like a good time to get back up on the speaking bandwagon again. As such, we are excited to be a part of the 26th Annual ASEI National Convention taking place in September.
Now, what does a marketing company have to do with NASA? Well, a quick read of the info below show the event is has a social media track. So, while we don’t know much about launching rockets into space, we do know a thing or two about that! Toss in a bit of business development and using technology to help your business and BAM, it’s right up our alley!
The conference is open to everyone, so stay tuned and ponder if perhaps this might be a good way to spend a Saturday. (We did!).

With temperatures rising and the days lingering… why not hang out more?
If you happen to be in the area, might we suggest an evening with our friends a Bask Magazine?
